Can One Travel eSIM Be Shared With Family?

Can one travel eSIM be shared with family

An eSIM profile is normally installed on one compatible phone and should not be scanned on multiple devices. However, that phone may be able to share its mobile data through a personal hotspot.

Install the profile on one phone only

Choose the main phone before scanning the QR code. Many activation codes are single-use, and the profile usually cannot be moved freely between family phones. Read why one eSIM cannot normally be installed on two phones.

Check whether hotspot is supported

The plan and phone must both allow tethering. Select EasyTripGo for mobile data first, then enable Personal Hotspot or Mobile Hotspot. If another device connects but has no internet, follow our hotspot troubleshooting guide.

Protect and monitor the hotspot

Use a strong hotspot password and share it only with your group. Turn the hotspot off when it is not needed. Streaming, cloud backups and app updates on connected devices can use the allowance quickly.

Choose separate plans for independent access

A shared hotspot depends on the main phone staying nearby, powered on and connected. Separate eSIM plans are better when travelers split up or need reliable individual access. Before purchasing, verify each phone with the eSIM compatibility checklist.
