Do not rely on an iCloud backup as the only way to recover a travel eSIM. An iPhone backup can restore apps and settings, while cellular-plan transfer or reactivation follows separate device and provider rules.
Prepare before resetting or replacing the iPhone
Keep the old iPhone available, save the EasyTripGo order email and record the ICCID. Do not delete a working profile just to create a backup. See how to find the ICCID, EID and IMEI.
Restore the phone data first
Complete the normal iCloud restore, then open Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data. Check whether the EasyTripGo line appears. A restored app layout or device setting does not prove that the eSIM profile has returned.
Do not rescan automatically
If the profile is missing, do not repeatedly scan the original QR code. Many eSIM activation codes are single-use. Review what “activation code already used” means before attempting another installation.
Contact support before removing the old profile
If the old phone still has the profile, leave it there until the new setup is confirmed. EasyTripGo can check the plan status and advise the correct next step. For a full device change, follow our travel eSIM transfer guide.
If you still need help, contact EasyTripGo Support or message us on WhatsApp. Please include your order number, destination, phone model and screenshots of the relevant settings.
