Two-factor authentication can become difficult if every recovery method depends on one phone or one home SIM. Prepare several trusted methods before leaving so a lost signal or device does not lock you out.
Understand the two lines
An EasyTripGo travel eSIM is usually data-only. It provides internet access but normally does not receive SMS sent to your regular number. Learn the difference in our data-only eSIM guide.
Keep the home line available
If you need SMS OTP, keep the primary line enabled while selecting EasyTripGo as the mobile-data SIM. Turn off data roaming for the primary line to reduce unintended data charges, but ask your home carrier whether receiving SMS abroad costs anything. Follow our OTP setup guide.
Add backup methods
Where supported, add an authenticator app, hardware security key or recovery email. Save backup codes in a secure place separate from the phone. Test these methods before travel and never give an OTP or recovery code to support staff.
Avoid accidental roaming data
Dual-SIM settings can switch mobile data unexpectedly. Disable automatic data switching and confirm the travel eSIM is selected for data. Our guide to avoiding primary-SIM roaming charges explains the safest configuration.
If you still need help, contact EasyTripGo Support or message us on WhatsApp. Please include your order number, destination, phone model and screenshots of the relevant settings.
