Installing a China eSIM is usually straightforward, but the order of the settings matters. Prepare the profile on reliable Wi-Fi, keep the installation details available offline and avoid deleting the eSIM if the first connection attempt fails.
What should you check before installation?
- Your phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked.
- You have a stable Wi-Fi connection.
- The QR code is displayed on a second device or printed.
- You understand when the plan validity begins.
The EasyTripGo China eSIM offers multiple allowances and 3–30-day validity options. Choose the plan first with the Best eSIM for China guide and the China eSIM data guide.
How do you install and activate the eSIM?
On iPhone, open Settings, then Cellular or Mobile Data, and choose Add eSIM. On Android, the menu is usually under Settings, Network & Internet, Connections or SIM Manager. Scan the QR code or use the manual details supplied with the order.
Label the new line “EasyTripGo” or “China” so it is easy to identify. On arrival, turn on the eSIM, select it as the mobile data line and enable data roaming for that eSIM if required. Keep data roaming disabled on your home SIM to reduce the risk of roaming charges.
What should you do if mobile data does not work?
- Confirm that the eSIM is enabled.
- Confirm it is selected for mobile data, especially on dual-SIM phones.
- Enable data roaming for the travel eSIM.
- Toggle airplane mode for about 30 seconds.
- Restart the phone and keep network selection automatic.
Signal and speed can vary by location. Review the China eSIM Coverage Guide before changing advanced network settings. Do not delete the eSIM unless support specifically instructs you to do so.
Can you share the connection by hotspot?
Hotspot availability depends on the plan, device and network configuration. If hotspot sharing is available, open Personal Hotspot or Mobile Hotspot in your phone settings, set a strong password and connect your laptop or other device.
Tethering can use data quickly, especially during video calls, system updates and cloud sync. Use data-saving settings and monitor consumption. If you are deciding whether eSIM, a local SIM or home-carrier roaming is the better setup, see China eSIM vs Local SIM and International Roaming.
