Amman, Jerash and the Dead Sea
Amman has the densest urban environment in a typical Jordan itinerary. Reception can still fall inside underground parking, lifts and concrete buildings. Jerash is close to populated northern routes, but signal can vary between towns. Around the Dead Sea, resorts may have service while cliffs and lower-traffic roads create uneven reception.
Petra and Wadi Musa
Wadi Musa is the service town beside Petra and is more likely to provide a stable connection than isolated trails. Inside the Siq and between high sandstone walls, radio signals can be blocked. Download tickets, maps and hotel information before entering the archaeological site.
Wadi Rum and southern roads
Wadi Rum's open desert and rock formations create large differences by location. Some established camps may have a usable connection, while remote valleys and off-road routes may have little or no signal. Do not rely on mobile data as the only navigation or safety tool.
The official Jordan tourism site describes Wadi Rum as an off-the-beaten-path desert destination. Prepare offline maps, tour contacts and meeting points before leaving Aqaba, Petra or the main highway.
5G, 4G and actual speed
Umniah states that 5G service depends on covered areas and provides a coverage map for checking locations. Your travel eSIM may access 5G when network coverage, the phone, supported bands and provisioning all permit it; otherwise 4G or LTE can be normal.
Daily Unlimited reduced speed is different from weak signal. The usual rule is 1GB high-speed data per day, then up to 5Mbps until the daily reset, unless the selected plan states otherwise.
Reconnect when service disappears
