Moving between China, Japan and South Korea does not require installing a new eSIM at every airport. A regional profile can remain on your phone while the device changes to a supported network in each country. A few preparation steps make those transitions smoother.
What happens when you arrive?
The EasyTripGo China, Japan & South Korea eSIM uses China Telecom or China Unicom in China, KDDI or SoftBank in Japan, and LG U+ or SK Telecom in South Korea. After landing, the phone searches for a supported partner and registers on the local network.
Keep the EasyTripGo line enabled, select it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for that eSIM. Start with automatic network selection. Registration can take several minutes inside an aircraft, immigration hall, underground station or airport building.
Before a flight or ferry
Save boarding passes, hotel addresses and transport instructions offline. Mobile service disappears during flights and can be inconsistent at sea, in tunnels or underground. Downloading essential documents prevents a temporary signal gap from interrupting the trip.
Dual-SIM users should confirm that the travel eSIM is selected for mobile data. The home SIM can remain available for calls or verification messages, but its data roaming should be reviewed to reduce accidental carrier charges.
If data does not reconnect
Wait in an open area after arrival, then turn airplane mode on for about 30 seconds and switch it off. If necessary, restart the phone and check automatic network selection again. Do not delete the eSIM while troubleshooting because reinstalling the profile may not be possible with the original installation details.
Coverage and speed depend on local signal, congestion, terrain and device compatibility. City centers and major transport corridors are usually easier coverage environments than remote mountains, rural areas or smaller islands.
After the connection returns, open a fresh webpage with Wi-Fi switched off. This confirms that mobile data—not airport or hotel Wi-Fi—is providing the connection. Keep the installation information available until the full journey is complete.
